Chakras are centers of energy in the body, originating from ancient Indian spiritual traditions, especially in yoga and Ayurveda. The word chakra means “wheel” in Sanskrit, and these energy points are thought to spin like wheels, regulating physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

While there are hundreds of such centers through the body, there are seven main chakras, aligned along the spine from the base to the crown of the head:

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Base of the spine; associated with stability and survival.

2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) – Lower abdomen; linked to creativity, reproduction, and sexuality.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Upper abdomen; governs confidence and personal power.

4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) – Center of chest; associated with love and compassion.

5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Throat area; relates to communication, expression, and truth.

6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Forehead between the eyes; linked to intuition and insight.

7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) – Top of the head; represents spiritual connection and enlightenment.

Balanced chakras are believed to promote physical and emotional health, while misalignment may lead to issues in the related areas. Practices like meditation, yoga, breathwork, sound and energy healing are often used to balance the chakras.

What may a Chakra Energy Reading session include?
For reading and analyzing the body’s chakra energy system, the facilitator will be using Reiki hand positions to scan the participant’s energy flow. The session starts with cleansing of the peri-spirit- the outer energy layer of the body, using Palo Santo. The client then rests on a treatment table and the facilitator performs a full body reiki session during which he reads into the way the energy flows. At the conclusion of the session, the facilitator shares with the client the findings.

It is important to understand that the chakras, while individual intersections of energy channels, also work with each other. For example, the sacral chakra is related to creativity but feeds into the throat chakra of expression. A misalignment in one chakra may therefore affect a totally different area in the body.

A typical Chakra Energy Reading session is 90 minutes with about 55 minutes of hands-on.
There is no need for any special preparations on the part of the client.
